Imagination is limitless beauty
Expressing my darkness, the shadows that have been haunting me of late. Merging my creative impulses with my passion for costume, fire and dance. Allowing my shadow to inspire my creativity. Acknowledging the darkness within and exploring new realms as a performer. This is part of a series of photographs taken to document a new fire performance character I developed recently for a Dark Circus themed event. Playing with Gothic themes for costume and makeup.

“Move as a total being, and accept things. Just for twenty-four hours, try it - total acceptance, whatsoever happens. Someone insults you, accept it; don’t react, and see what happens. Suddenly you will feel an energy flowing in you that you have not felt before.” - Osho

“Unless we do something with our dreams, we will not dream well. This is indigenous wisdom, understood by all of our ancestors when they lived in cultures that valued dreams and the dreamer. As my friends of the Six Nations tell it, soul speaks to us in dreams, showing us what it desires. If we do not take action to honor such dreams, soul becomes disgusted with us and withdraws its energy and vitality from our lives.”

Spot the hippie… This is where I go to connect with my heart centre, my self, my true being. There is natural peace and quiet, space to breathe, clean air to cleanse. The trees hold me in their embrace, filling my cells with pure light, pure connection, pure living. My problems are absorbed into the earth, the moss grabs my woes and transforms them, the roots drain my worries away and feed me with clarity and mindfulness. Hug a tree, talk to it, give it your worries and watch them become something powerless.
The last time I was in Roslin, I cried with joy as I watched the colours of the leaves graduate from brilliant gold to rich reds, oranges, yellows… My tears expressed relief from the confines of the concrete city. My heart felt like I was truly home.
